ELEMENTAL PIXAR’S NEW FILM; WILL TAKE YOUR TEARS OUT

From the moment that we started watching the movie, we were practically moved by the amazing work of animation, even though we can agree this one is not the best movie from Pixar. Im amazed by the plot! The message of this film encourages us to overlook far more than just an adorable romance but to see each aspect of humanity as a huge element of our coexistence, and even with that, we’re all the same!

The great film can be found relatable with other movies from Pixar, like Zootopia; as the first scene can show, a foreign family arriving in a new city, but none has touched my heart as this one does with the two conflicts that were exposed by the writers, John Hoberg and Kat Likkel. The writers stand by the theme of immigration, but choose to strike us with an amazing surprise for the whole family to watch and relate with; bringing young and passionate love to our table, I meant screens!

Since the beginning of the movie, you can tell by the anthropomorphism, that there were only certain characters representing the whole theme of the film. Earth, fire, air, and water; are the four (4) elements of nature that create and allow the world to function in perfect order. The theme of inclusion was exposed right to our faces; with the whole family gathering their things to their new world.

These elements were our inspiration, and the director indeed too to gave us a strong message. Peter Sohn, wishes with this Pixar film to highlight immigration as our first and principal conflict. We can see how a whole community is set to coexist in perfect harmony, in this great city.

The first role was named Ember interpreted by Leah Lewis, representing the fire character with a lot of bad humor and a temper that goes as high as the flames that she was made; but fragile and strong in her inside. Wade was our water boy, interpreted by Mamoudou Athie. Wade was my FAVORITE GUY from the movie. This character was full of joy and represented not only water but the optimism and importance of choosing to be lovable to others. Before these love birds fall in love, this great guy shows us how you can be loyal and righteous by filling the report that twists Ember’s vision of the future gets intense but ends up showing her that she can learn to accept others starting by loving and accepting her own path, destiny, and in a most certain way; who heart loves.

There were two highlighted elements in this movie, fire, and water, which show us that with acceptance everything can be done. Through a single conflict that I found repetitive, these two different elements found out they were very different but not so apart from being the same. That is why, I gave this movie a huge recommendation to be seen with the whole family, but can’t give it 5 stars.

The humor, the colors, and the drama will take your tears one way or another, I guarantee; as I can say the 4 elements being all together shows a secret message for all of us in such a romantic and funny plot. Wouldn’t you agree?
